Caeli; I left a package outside of BARiTONES for you. I’d like to spend the evening with you, so if you could drop by Wild City at 7:30pm, then… I’ll see you then.

[ this is what is inside the carefully wrapped package, neatly pressed and folded. ]

[ he doesn't answer, but the checkmark for read will be present and sure enough, he shows up with that outfit at 7:30 sharp. Not one minute earlier, not one minute later. ]

[ answers the door in this to match his ears and tails! smiles on seeing scara in the chosen outfit, striding out and around him for a 360 look. on the second go around, however; he stops behind him, a hand on his shoulder and the other hand going to his chin to tip his head back so they can share a kiss. ]

[ well. he was going to comment on his outfit, but then Childe kisses him and he's very distracted. ]

I'm glad it's a hit. [ steps around to his side and holds a hand out to him. ] Let's head inside.

[ he smiles at the gesture, reaching out to take his hand and giving it a small squeeze ]

[ squeezes right back. ]

You'll have to wait until we're there. It's a surprise. [ tugs him right up against his side, swallowing him in his tails. ] I wanted tonight to be special.

[ he backs off and turns, heading to his room and then the beach, which is done up to look something like this. ]

[ Well. Childe is a master of blueballig him, isn't he. He lets out a soft moan as Childe presses his leg against his crotch, and already he's thinking of this evening going a very specific direction.

... but then he stops, and instead heads into his room. He is pouting at him, looking annoyed that he didn't go further ... but the sight of the beach, and what he did, makes his expression change immediately ]

It’s for our date… [ since he assumes the hesitation is because he doesn’t want to get sandy he’ll scoop him up, giving him a lopsided smile and a kiss. ] I made a few light appetizers and some surf and turf for dinner. [ he’ll yammer on about the food as he brings scara over, setting him down gently into the pile of pillows. ] And some refreshing alcoholic drinks to round it all out. [ takes a seat beside him. ] I thought we could watch the sun set together and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. [ take two: dopey grin! ]

[ he's beyond charmed, and it shows with the eyes in his heart appearing pretty much right away ]

Ah ... so you put this much effort in a date with me. How sweet.

[ he leans over to kiss his cheek. ] I do love you, Kunikuzushi, and this is just one way of showing you.

... sometimes it still feels overwhelming, you know? If you keep this up I might even end up crying.

...is that so, well, maybe I should save this for later then. [ he looks aside, moving a few things around on the table, grabbing a plate and starting to put one together for him and scaramouche to share. ]

What? Is your surprise something that's going to make me cry? You're being all suspicious.

I was going to wait, but did you want it now?

[ he's crossing his arms at his chest, looking Childe over, like he's trying to guess what he's got in store ]

[ childe moves off the pillows to, instead, kneel in the sand alongside scaramouche, reaching into a hidden pocket for a small velvet case. ] I love you Kunikuzushi, and this [ he offers up the little case, containing this. ] ring symbolizes our bond, two fates interlaced to forge something much stronger, one that'll last through the tides of time. And while you plan on traveling I want you to take a piece of me with you...

[ he really shouldn't be surprised at a ring, not after everything they told each other lately, not after everything they've been through. It seems forever since they started being a thing, since Childe first told him he loved him, and he was forced to believe him.

He shouldn't be surprised, but he is, and he's entirely speechless as he reaches for the case, looks at it and takes the ring out to examine it.

His eyes were already hearts, but the shine a bright red as he reads the inscription ]

[ childe smiles, leaning across to drop a kiss on his forehead. ] ...no tears? [ brings a hand to the back of his neck, playing with the tufts of hair there. ] I guess I needed to work on my little speech a bit more, ...but, in any case, I love you, and by carrying this and wearing it, I hope you'll never forget.

[ no tears ... for now. But his eyes are a little misty, so maybe he's getting closer ]

You stupid jackass ... as if there's any risk I'm going to forget.

[ he hands the ring back to Childe, but then he holds his hand out, expectant ]

Well, what about you? Are you going to forget I love you? ... or me?

[ he takes his hand, giving it a kiss, and then he slides the ring onto his finger. ] How could I forget how much you bully me? The scars you’ve given me will see me until the end of time. [ gives him a cheeky grin. ] But in all seriousness, no, I’ll never forget. [ cups his face, taking a proper kiss this time. ]
